With Raheem Sterling valued at £50m by Liverpool, the clubs who can afford to buy him are depressingly familiar. It's basically Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, alongside a handful of European teams.
So we're very excited to be able to reveal that a plucky non-league club have entered the race to sign the England international. Fans of Conference Premier side Macclesfield Town have created a Crowdfunder campaign to raise the £50m needed to land Sterling.
At the point of writing they have £119 which we think is an encouraging start. As is generally the case with these schemes, the more you invest into the project, the bigger your personal reward. A £100 donation for example, will see you become the proud owner of a Macclesfield shirt signed by Sterling - once the deal is done, of course.
