Everton have identified Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk as Chelsea-bound John Stones replacement, according to the Express.
Celtic's Dutch centre-back is also a target for Southampton, but it's thought that Everton are confident of hijacking the Saints' £7m move. Everton, of course, will have the upper hand due to the amount of money they'll get for Stones. However, the Saints won't give in without a fight as they're desperate to fill the void left by Toby Alderweireld.
Chelsea have been told they will have to pay £34m for 21-year-old Stones, but Everton's interest in Van Dijk means there may be room for a little negotiation. Either way, it's telling that the Toffees are actively looking at bringing in a replacement.
