This Info-Graphic Shows How Giroud Has Gone From Average To Elite At Arsenal
Olivier Giroud's arrival at Arsenal was met with muted anticipation. Despite being the top goalscorer in Ligue 1 the previous season, it was for an overachieving Montpellier side.
Indeed the dubiousness was justified at first when Giroud looked distinctly average, perhaps another one for the Chamakh/Aliadiere pile. However, as he settled in at Arsenal, Wenger started building attacking play around his new big target man and Giroud's finesse and ability with his back to goal became evident. His goalscoring also improved over time and he's now performing at a genuinely World Class rate.
It must be either be annoying for those fans who still don't think he's good enough that he's scoring goals at a rate not too dissimilar to Thierry Henry and Ian Wright at their peaks. Oh, and that he is the perfect shaped peg for the hole in Arsenal's free-flowing attack which enables others to bounce off him, use him and find him. It seems it's about time people realised just how good Giroud is and just how suited he is to Arsenal…
