Valencia Rule Out Selling Man Utd And Arsenal Target
According to the Daily Star, Valencia are desperate to keep hold of their best asset, 19-year-old left-back Jose Luis Gaya. The u21 Spain international has been hugely impressive this season, thus attracting a high amount of interest from both Spain and England. Arsenal and Manchester United are the two English teams thought to be most interested in signing the youngster.
Gaya currently has a ludicrously low buy-out clause of £13.5million, but Valencia are confident of getting him to sign a new contract worth over £30million.
Valencia president Amadeo Salvo has sternly stated that Gaya is not for sale.
"The player is not for sale and we will not negotiate," he said.
Arsenal reportedly explored the possibility of signing Gaya in January, but opted for Gabriel instead. Premier League rivals Manchester United are thought to be keen on a summer move for the player as Luke Shaw has failed to impress in his first season at Old Trafford. Both English teams must be weary, however, that Real Madrid are ever-present when it comes to young Spanish talent.
