What a debut...

Arsenal's 18-year-old American youngster Gedion Zelalem had the debut of a lifetime for Rangers last night as he assisted twice and displayed some sumptuous skill.

Rangers beat Scottish League One side Airdreonians 5-0 in the League Cup, but despite the crushing victory against sub-par opposition, Zelalem's quality was undeniably exceptional.

Zelalem was prominent throughout, but his first notable contribution came when he assisted Rangers' third goal with a gorgeous pass...

His second assist was less impressive because of the scintillating run made by James Tavernier, but it was pivotal nonetheless...

Zelalem's best moment was actually a flash of brilliance that can only be compared to the one Arsenal fans consider their footballing God: Dennis Bergkamp. The young American found himself with his back to the defender and decided to pull off a stunning piece of skill to turn away, before taking further touches to distance himself from another opposition player...

Both Rangers and Arsenal fans will be licking their lips at the present Zelalem as well as his future potential.
