For the many faults that Paul Lambert had during his time as the Aston Villa manager, it’s hard to argue that he didn’t give youth a chance.
Yet for all the young signings Lambert made he might have given more opportunities to the brightest prospect that Villa have right now - Jack Grealish.
The 19-year old excelled during a loan spell at Notts County last season but has only played eleven games across all competitions for Villa this season.
Villa fans will be hoping that new manager Tim Sherwood will put his faith in Grealish, having given Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb a chance at Spurs last season.
When asked about Grealish in his first press conference, Sherwood said: “I know Grealish from youth football.”
“I haven’t seen him on the training field but I know he is a talented boy and potentially one of the best young talents.”
Here’s Grealish in action during his time at Notts County.
