Chelsea’s on-loan striker Patrick Bamford is proving to be a huge success at Middlesbrough and one way or the other seems set to grace the Premier League next season.
Bamford scored his fifteenth goal of the season today to put Boro in a prime position to win promotion to the Premier League. If they make it then Chelsea might feel that it’s best to keep the 21-year old at a team where he’s settled, in order to help him adapt to the rigours of the top flight.
Yet Bamford’s performances also make a case for Jose Mourinho using him in the Chelsea squad next season. With Didier Drogba not getting any younger and Loic Remy hardly a favourite of Mourinho, it’s no inconceivable that Bamford could get his chance at Stamford Bridge.
