Why Antoine Griezmann Would Be A Perfect For Liverpool
Having enjoyed a strong season in La Liga with Real Sociedad, Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a host of clubs, the most recent being Liverpool, according to the Mirror. Spanish newspaper Sport have indicated that both Chelsea and Liverpool are keeping tabs on the French winger, with Liverpool's interest seeming more serious. Griezmann has a buyout clause of €30million Euros, and Real Sociedad are adamant that their star man will not be leaving for any less than that.
Liverpool have already splashed out this summer, bringing in Adam Lallana from Southampton for £25 million, and Lazar Markovic for £20 million from Benfica. However, Liverpool fans are understandably desperate for Brendan Rodgers to sign players so the club are not hit too hard by Luis Suarez's departure to Barcelona, particularly after missing out on Alexis Sanchez as he reportedly snubbed Liverpool to sign for Arsenal.
With Oussama Assaidi looking likely to leave the club after a loan spell at Stoke and Victor Moses returning to Chelsea, Liverpool's wide options include Raheem Sterling, Lazar Markovic and highly rated youngster Jordan Ibe. Adam Lallana and Coutinho will both primarily play centrally, but may feature out wide at points in the season.
Griezmann would offer Liverpool incredible trickery and pace on the left, which allowed him to score 16 La Liga goals for Real Sociedad last season. At just 23 years old, Griezmann is still coming into his prime, and the idea of Sterling and Griezmann on the flanks for years to come is a tantalising prospect for Liverpool fans.
