Why Liverpool Signing PSG Superstar Could Rescue Season
Liverpool haven't had the greatest start to the season by anyone's standards, but that's alright, because it's only January and the transfer window is still open. So, y'know, things could change.
One glimmer of hope is PSG's fiery winger Ezequiel Lavezzi, who as well as having the most badass name in football, is available on the cheap.
Anyway, the Daily Express are reporting that ol' Brendan's lining up a move for the winger, who happens to be out of contract in the summer.
Lavezzi is a lightning fast, dynamic forward with a half-decent-ish strike-rate (sort of) but his real skill lies in his crossing and quick transitions with and without the ball. He's got such little legs and he's so strong, he's a real pain to try and knock off of the ball. He's also able to play in a number of different positions behind the striker, which is always nice.
With his contract up next year, will Liverpool sign him for a nominal fee this month to keep things fresh or wait until he's up for nought?
