There's A UKIP Calypso Song, And It Is Not Good

The public image of former Radio 1 DJs just got worse, and that's no small feat.

Jesus Christ. Sometimes reality is far, far stranger than satire. This is one of those times.

Former Radio 1 DJ Mike Read has released a track called UKIP Calypso, which is backed by Farage, and hopes to get it to number 1. Sung in a faux-Caribbean accent (we're honestly not making this up) Read sings:

"Leaders committed a cardinal sin / Open the borders and let them all come in. Illegal immigrants in every town / Stand up and be counted Blair and Brown"

It's good fun to point and laugh, but to be honest the fact that it's sung in a way which knowingly mocks those West Indian immigrants who started a new life in Britain despite prejudice and violence from the types of people UKIP now feed on, whose families now make up the beautiful fabric of this nation, just shows Read up to be a bit of a wanker really.
