Empire State Building Shootings: N.R.A. Proposes Law Requiring All Americans To Be Armed

In the wake of the shootings in New York, the N.R.A. have decided enough is enough and drastic action needs to be taken. Guns for everyone is the only answer.

Gun Nuts

Canaan, NY —Saying it was “time to take action against the rising gun violence in America,” the National Rifle Association issued a statement today proposing new legislation requiring all citizens to be armed before being admitted into movie theaters.

The N.R.A.’s official spokesman, Horace Boom, said that the N.R.A. had taken this extraordinary step because it “could not stand idly by and watch loonies shoot innocent unarmed Americans. Had there been several N.R.A. members in that audience in Aurora they would have nailed him before he’d even raised one of his guns.”

The law, although not yet written, has already been sponsored by two hundred and eighty Republican congressman and forty Republican Senators.

“With a law requiring all Americans to be armed at all times, no mass murders will ever again occur in our wonderful country,” declared Congressman Matt Peterson (R. Indiana).

“I firmly believe that this law will essentially eliminate crime,” said Senator Orin Bash of Wyoming. “With a fully armed citizenry, which was clearly what the writers of our great Constitution had in mind, no criminal will dare undertake any violent crime. Our movie theaters and restaurants and high schools will be safe again.”

“With a fully armed citizenry, which was clearly what the writers of our great Constitution had in mind, no criminal will dare undertake any violent crime.

A spokesman for President Obama reported that the President, although in general supporting such legislation, felt that the law should limit weapons to citizens who had reached the age of sixteen.

Children’s Rights advocate Jill Fortress immediately indicated that her organization would fight this limitation with all its available membership.

“Children are at even more risk of gun violence than adult citizens,” she declared. “Letting them have guns would let them protect themselves against physically stronger adults. Think how many child abductions would be avoided had those poor children been packing.”

Gun lobbyist Peter Smile said that he also could see no reason to limit the arming of people, except possibly illegal aliens and drug smugglers, who he felt were being sufficiently armed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Senator Diane Feinstein (Dem. California) said she might vote against the bill since she felt that having just half the people in a movie theater armed would surely be enough.

Unbelievable, the answer to all these massacres is to arm even more nutters. Oh and lets not leave the children out, that's against their human rights. U.S.A. has gone total loco.

God help us all. If there's a more stupid solution to the spiralling gun problem in America I can't wait to read it

johnwayne 7:59 pm, 28-Jul-2012

The fact it took me until the 5th paragraph to realise it was a pisstake really says something about the U.S.

Those people over at 'The Onion' can pack up and go home now.

Mikie 6:16 am, 29-Jul-2012

How is that remotely humorous? James, you're shitting me. Right?

James 4:56 pm, 29-Jul-2012

It's not humorous. Satire doesn't have to be humorous.

daznez 2:01 pm, 30-Jul-2012

@Johnwayne: It was the president Obama 'quote' that twigged for me. @James: Agreed, trouble is, there is a large proportion of the American population that would read this and go 'hell, yeah..etc.'

Mikie 5:19 pm, 24-Aug-2012

Andrew 3:01 pm, 26-Aug-2012

Shouldn't we all at least wait until after the Republican convention tomorrow rather than just assuming this is just a humour piece!

Steve 8:34 pm, 26-Aug-2012

Surely this is a joke! The picture of the three nurds holding their guns is very camp!

Johnny L 1:20 am, 27-Aug-2012

It may well be a piss take but there are Americans who believe this.
