Making Money Out Of Old Rubbish

Ever wondered what those tattered windscreen wipers might be good for? Perhaps you just couldn’t part with the old unused toilet bowl? Don’t fear, you’re not a hoarder (well, you might be) you just knew that those unwanted items would one day become useful again...

Ever wondered what those tattered windscreen wipers might be good for? Perhaps you just couldn’t part with the old unused toilet bowl? Don’t fear, you’re not a hoarder (well, you might be) you just knew somewhere in the back of your mind that those unwanted items would one day become useful again, and perhaps even save you some money.

To become the modern day Womble/human hybrid, you must first consider that all those throwaway household items, are actually not even broken and can be recycled within the walls of your own home.

Windscreen wipers

Cleaning the windows is a chore at best, but having to pop down the shops and spend your hard-earned cash on new blades for the squeegee is a kick in the teeth. As is changing the rubber on your windscreen wipers on your car. Save your cash, combine the two and now you’re a window cleaning, money saving genius.

Toilet bowl planter

Believe it or not, fitting a toilet is a work of art. All those bends and pipes and the threat of getting doused in slime at any moment is serious business. So why throw your old toilet bowl in the skip when it was such an effort to fit in the first place? Don’t. Throw it in your garden instead and load it with soil and plants. Now you have a novelty planter and some extra cash in your wallet.

Old shirts to new rags

Why spend money on fancy clean pieces of cloth to polish and dust with when they’ll soon turn into filthy rags? Simply take those old t-shirts you don’t wear anymore (yes, even the Hawaiian ones), tear them up and voila, new rags to polish your toilet planter with… or your ornaments.
