From Stephen Merchant, to Rufus Hound, via Skinner and Baddiel, 30 of the nation's best funnymen (and women) got suited up to help raise money for charity. Photographer Richard Cannon tells us why he put this brilliant project together.

I came up with the idea to photograph comics in the same suit in November 2010. I wanted to have a top designer and only contacted  Ozwald Boateng for help in donating one of his white suits. He happily obliged and In january I set out to contact as many comedians as possible and set myself a target of 30 to be completed in time for Red Nose day on the 18th March (8 weeks). I made myself available to the comedians 24/7 and at a place of their choice for  convenience.

All portraits were taken within 15 minutes and I had no prior knowledge of the locations.

The white suit (jkt 44" and 38" Trs) was signed by each of the comedians and it was auctioned on Twitrelief (part of the comic relief auction) The winning bidder was Emma Freud and sold for £890.00.

She not only won the suit but also a A1 print with all comedians featured and a photoshoot with the winning bidder in the same white suit. (I will be photographing Emma Freud's 3 children in the suit together.) she has requested 1 10 x 8 print of each of the comedians to be displayed in Richard Curtis's office who is the founder of Comic Relief.

The exhibition is running from the 19th May until the 29th May at The Idea Generation Gallery, 11 Chance Street, London E2 7JB (opening times 10 - 6 weekdays and 12 - 5 weekends). All 30 portraits will be on display and the proceeds from the sales will go to Comic Relief.

The list in full; Adam Bloom, Al Murray, Stephen K Amos, Andi Osho, David Baddiel, Ben Miller, Catherine Tate, Dave Gorman, Dick and Dom, Greg Davies, Hugh Dennis, Iain Lee, James Mullinger, Mark Dolan, Marc Wooton, Mickey Flanagan, Milton Jones, Paul Foot, Rhod Gilbert, Rowan Atkinson, Rufus Hound, Scott Capurro, Seann Walsh, Shappi Khorsandi, Shazia, Simon Brodkin (aka Lee Nelson), Frank Skinner, Stephen Merchant, Tim Key and Xander Armstrong.
