We’ve all been to festivals and surfed the plastic bottle tidal wave, but apart from taking responsibility for your own mess there hasn’t really been anything you can do to avert this ankle-twisting problem. Until now.
Earlier this month, Coke rolled out its Happiness Recycled Initiative at the RockNess festival and also the Royal Highland Show to bring a bit of fun and glamour to getting rid of plastic bottles. Basketball challenges, giant flowerpots and Flash Mob performances by the Coke Cheerleader Troupe entertained the public and hopefully highlighted what is a very serious issue.
With the Government setting a target of recycling 50% of all waste in 2013, it’s important that no matter how excited you are to be screaming blue murder at Biffy Clyro or shuffle dancing to The Stone Roses this summer, you don’t forget that every one of us has an environmental responsibility.
