According to stats, he almost doubled Cristiano Ronaldo's dribbles per league game average last year, and he's probably heading to the Premier League...

According to Italian insiders, Tutto Mercado, the Premier League title race might not be the only sprint that Liverpool are beating Manchester United at.

With the summer transfer window in sight, clubs are on their marks, ready for a shopping spree - and the two north west giants are both eyeing the same prize.

Yes, obviously a nifty medal that they can show their mates, but also Fiorentina’s Colombian winger Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, who has been tearing Serie A a new one since pitching up at the Stadio Artemio Franchi back in 2012.

The player is quickly building a rep as one of the most lethal players on the continent, and Brendan Rodgers is believed to be priming a move for the 25 year old speed merchant, who can also operate from full-back - but his capture of the player will not be an easy one, as just across the M62, David Moyes, armed with pockets full of cash, is also limbering up for the starting pistol.

With Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs both set to depart Old Trafford in the summer, United could certainly do with some more wide options - and the tricky South American, who is so quick that he often outpaces his opponents even with the ball at his feet, would give them another outlet.

Liverpool will, of course, be buoyed by the fact that they are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League with just a handful left to play - and the lure of playing Champions League football, as well as joining the (potential) champions, might just be the kicker for Cuadrado, if the battle for his affections goes down to the wire.

*okay so that’s not actually true, but still: twice as many dribbles, eh?

Juan Guillermo Cuadrado misses the goal more than he scores. And you, Jonno Turner, are a frigging idiot to say that he is twice as good as CR.

Can't say he's as good as ronaldo yet but i can see why lots of people are raving about him in certain circles & i can also understand the Ronaldinho comparisons too, similar stature & likes to take players on. Glad he doesn't look like Ronaldinho though, wouldn't be enough space for his & Luis grill in any photo! Seriously though, his signing would come down to price for LFC as always but they may be tempted to push the boat out a little on this one considering the player is just about to start his prime years of footie! I still want Firmino but his new contract at Hoffenhiem may have put an end to that unfortunately. Both players would be incredible but doubtful considering what else we need to buy for the squad which is the priority. Needless to say the summer transfer window will be interesting! JFT96, YNWA.
