Hailing from Milan, Italy, Il Bussetto make handcrafted leather accessories for the modern man, with a range of colour happy contemporary wallets, coin holders, business card holders, card holders and phone cases.
Il Bussetto's craftsmen use age old techniques enabling them to make intricate leather goods without any seams. You can really tell how many hours go into each product, the quality is obvious and the leather will only improve with age. If you're interested in how the leather finery is made then read on, if you just like looking at pictures of handsome leather goods then there's some nice examples for you below.
It all starts by cutting the leather, which is the finest Italian Cuoio. The tan on the leather is achieved using vegetal tannis extracted from Chestnut or Quebrancho trees which is drenched in water. This is then left to dry for as long as it takes on wooden moulds.
Once dried they're painted by hand and brushed with heated iron "bussetti". Finally - they're waxed and buffed to create the sheen which is synonymous with Il Bussetto's products. In between all of that there’s some fine tweaks within the manufacturing process that you and I will never find out and remain secret, passed down through generations known only by the skilled artisans at Il Bussetto.
Eye-catching yet understated, high on quality and won’t break the bank -Il Bussetto are the smart man's leather goods supplier.
