This is a lot to handle. I’m out here live-tweeting, posting some instagrams, tumbling a few and it’s hard work (for someone with no real conception of work. Unless we’re talking some rugged workwear, I got those neutral tones in my cotton and chambray combinations). It was less hectic today as the true sprezzarazi were catching their flights over to Florence for Pitti Uomo where they can wear double breasted sports coats, sit on curved walls pretending to smoke and take the most tweetable photos of each other. Yes. I am comically jealous. Anyway.
Day three. Let’s get familiar with some accessories. Heavily touted around the Hospital Club hub of fashion week was the offerings of tiemakers Marwood. These kids are seriously worth checking out, whether you’re wearing suits everyday, or just accenting your Friday night these boys are super wearable. Just check out the pics below for their awesome texturing using combinations of silk, wool and lace. After you do, I’m going to recommend you go and do something I shouldn’t recommend you to go and do. I’m all about that new new – copping things when they come out at full price ‘cos I write about fashion and I can get some reblogs out of that. That being said, you’re a fool not to check out Marwood’s website for their SS12 range – totally wearable this Winter and into Spring.
Another London show debutante came in the form of Hardy Aimes’ crazily steezy collection. Ballsy, confident, ‘check me out I’m way better than you, just peep my three piece, my glasses, and all these chicks getting up on my Twitter mentions’ tailoring. A type of tailoring, incidentally, becoming more and more prevalent. Luckily, I’m not the kind of fashion douchebag who predicts trends then tweets you months later saying ‘TOLD YA SO MOTHERFUCKERS’, so I won’t predict things, I’m a very different kind of fashion douchebag after all. Check these two awesome shots from the runway show.
There it was. Fashion Week (Monday to Wednesday, we’re all up on these four day weekends). I can now return to dressing appropriately for mundane tasks and checking my hair in the mirror a little less. It was crazy in London’s fashion jungle, but I’m back from the wilderness now having come, seen and conquered.
