Early in 2014 Police announced one of the biggest ever gambles in brand partnerships. With the most iconic sporting event
on the planet due in the spiritual home of football (not the OFFICIAL home of football mind you), the brand plumped for none other than Brazilian national hero and beacon of hope, Neymar Jr, as their official face of 2014.
We all know what happened next, and post Neymar’s back injury, the wheels fell off the national bus in spectacular style.
Why is Neymar the odd one of out of the group? He is the first Police ambassador to have his own dedicated style in the collection.
Messr’s Beckham, Willis and Clooney’s roles stopped at looking cool on motorbikes.
Introducing the Neymar Jr S1948.
In these glasses, the brand’s distinctive traits are enhanced with new creative ideas. The brand’s vintage soul is enriched with an innovative and unique finish. The fork temples are reinterpreted in a modern way and present two hues in a contrasting maIe and chrome finish that continues on to the front piece. The lenses feature an unconventional finish with a mirrored section on the top part; creating a new and contemporary two-tone effect, one of the eyewear’s distinguishing elements. The double bridge is made of metal, as is the insert that customises the two sides of the front piece in a futuristic revisitation
of the famous Police logo.
A celever 2 pronged attack from the Police brand. Brazil may have ultimately been a miss in the World Cup, but Neymar’s global appeal and his subsequent extension in to the brand, is a hit.
