Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years, you'll have noticed that grunge is in the midst of a major fashion revival. Here are the girls currently nailing it.

Shooting to fame in the nineties as a teenager with her famous Heroin-chic Calvin Klein campaign, Kate Moss pioneered the grunge look in Britain. Rebelling against the "healthy" and vibrant supermodels of the decade such as Cindy Crawford and Elle Mcpherson, emaciated and androgynous Kate presented a new idea of beauty which was never far from controversy.

Autumn/Winter shows for 2013 have been heaving with leather, zips, fishnets, piercings and beanies. From Donatella’s “Vunk” show which starred a gothic inspired Cara Delevigne, to Saint Laurent’s homage to tartan print and sheer fabrics, the catwalks proved the grunge trend has officially been revived and its as rebellious, youthful and inspired by pop-culture as ever before.

Here I salute the new generation of grunge gals for dragging themselves from premiers, to the catwalks, without ever putting a Doc Marten wrong.

Mary Kate Olsen

Mary Kate took a style u-turn in her 20’s, ditching her cute Tweenager days in Two of A Kind, in favour of grown up designer grunge. Huge oversized fur coats, lumberjack shirts, straggly hair and the obligatory giant pair of sunglasses, it takes a lot of Money to look this trampy. She and twin sister Ashley are estimated worth a cool $300 mill.

Alice Dellal

The Half Brazilian model earned her style Stripes for her rebellious punk look, fronting campaigns for Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Mango and Agent Provocateur. Her dip dye half shaven locks have often been imitated but never duplicated. Think tons of leopard print, underwear as outerwear, creepers and a shitload of leather. Not sure it's for everyone but I love Alice’s lady-of-the night look.

Cara Delevigne

A Tomboy take on the grunge look, she loves Trapstar beanies, High-tops and lets not forget THOSE eyebrows. No doubt the current darling of grunge, as famous for her hard partying as her campaigns, and the world seems to have forgotten about that mysterious packet of powder she dropped outside her house…  Nice one Cara

Pixie Geldof

Model and party girl pixie rocks her bleached crop, and pairs it with a pale complexion, minimal make up and smudged eyes. Never looking anything less than uber stylish and also as if she’s also just rolled out of bed, she’s also best mates with Grimmers. Jell.

Charlotte Free

Known simply as the “girl with the pink hair”, the American model’s been a breath of fresh air in the high fashion world, lighting up the catwalks like a pink Stabilo highlighter. Ridiculously beautiful, extremely cool and an animal/environmental activist, I'm a little bit in love.

Sky Ferreira
The Multi-talented American singer, song- writer, model and actress Rocks Cali inspired grunge straight from the West Coast. With her ivory complexion and platinum hair, Sky channels Mena Suvari in American Beauty, though maybe after attending a warehouse rave on three hours sleep…
