I recently spent a week on a beach hol and, for once, resisted the temptation to take loads of ‘stuff’ with me. Instead, I packed the very basics, relied on the hotel’s laundry facilities and opted for a simple little carry on holdall that, slung in the overhead, allowed me a trouble free week - free of all the extra baggage that only extra baggage can bring.

Handmade by craftsmen from hand picked bridle hide leather, the Papworth 303 soft leather holdall is the perfect bag for such a sojourn features - the all-important indestructible brass zip is lined with sage cotton drill and comes with a shoulder strap. Curiously, Papworth began via the auspices of a Dr.Penrill Varrier Jones who established a Tuberculosis colony in Oxfordshire in 1917 known as, The Papworth Village Settlement, whereby said sufferers might find appropriate work making cabinets, printing and creating top end leather goods. Subsequently they obtained a Royal warrant from George V, and then another, and while T.B waned, they carried on. A Great British company, Papworth make bags for life, not just for holidays.
