This summer there will one place to be. Fashion experts say water is set to be this summer’s must have utility so the queue for emergency stand pipe is the only place to be. But if there’s one thing more important than survival, it’s looking cool.
A combination of a drought, leaky water pipes and a spineless regulator have finally created Britain’s very own water cooler moment. All around London fashionistas will come together in the water queue to discuss the latest murder on Coronation Street.

Getting the right outfit is crucial, but it’s incredibly hard to strike the right balance and create a look that says, ‘This is me, these are my brand values and this my big plastic container.’

But how do you choose the right statement look? How do you make sure your shoes don’t clash with your jerry can?

A pair of Sperrys – the traditional boating shoe with a climate change twist – will see you through rain, flooding, drought or riots. These stylish Sperry cup shoes create a statement look that says 'let me through, I'm on the Thames Water guest list'.

But how do you choose the right statement look? How do you make sure your shoes don’t clash with your jerry can?

Make a big splash with a Victorinox Swiss Army Divemaster 500 Automatic watch, a snip at just £999.  It’ll tell you how long you’ve been in the queue and it’s great if you need to barter with someone for a few drops of fluid. With its rugged design, it’ll do serious damage to anyone who tries to push in ahead of you. It’s also resistant to CS gas if things turn nasty.

Here’s a fab designer outfit from OneU 1 (see picture). Fusing English Gent tailoring with urban streetwear, one of their hooded blazers might be both smart for politely standing in line and practical if you need to duck and cover as the riot police move in.

For the more feminine among you, this Shoulder Frill Dress from Peter Jansen will show your girly side while being hard wearing and practical. As the riots break out, it'll catch and retain every drop of moisture that the water cannons fire at you. When you squeeze that out later it'll still retain its shape. A snip at only £150!
