Paying For The Toilet And Standing on The Plane: Budget Airline Getaways
It's so hot here in England that you might as well stay put, as the hassle of the budget airline getaway is not always worth the flight...

Budget airlines have changed the world. How else could we get a 3.42am flight to Bratislava for £17.99? And it’s not just the exotic destinations it has unlocked, it’s the whole experience of no-frills flying. It’s the adventure of on-line booking, dodging those tick boxes and hidden charges like Indiana Jones in a cave system. It’s the challenge of cramming two-weeks’ worth of clobber into a bag the size of a cereal box. It’s the pioneering spirit of travelling on a plane where the seats and toilets are treated as guilty pleasures. It’s the moorish indulgence of paying £7.50 for a packet of crisps and bottle of water.
And then when you finally arrive, you find that you’re not actually in Bratislava – but a small airfield on the ‘outskirts’. No problem, it’s just a short hop away, about five-hours in a bus.

Ryan air sucks, air Asia now that's how a budget airline should be
Flew Ryan Air once ... treated exactly like cattle with an unannounced $10 departure fee from Knock, and people just put up with this! For me, never again!
"It's so hot here in England that you might as well stay put". Yeah, bollocks to the history and culture of mainland Europe. Let's go abroad just for the temperature. I've no problem with Ryanair. No other airline has taken me to Berlin and back for around £20.
me neither fugate , 1986 £380 pounds to fly from ireland to london, to fly with ryanair in 1988 £60.
