From a gentlemanly CP30 a to Victorian R2D2, the Star Wars fine art collection presents the familiar characters of George Lucas's universe in unusual and unique situations. The collection, which is currently being showcased at the Generation Gallery in Manchester, features a number of rare prints and original artworks all accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Lucasfilm. From abstract visions of the Star Wars universe to surreal interpretations of its characters, the collection showcases the great extent to which Star Wars continues to inspire the imagination. The collection also features pieces by the late John Alvin, one of the most notable cinematic artists of all time, creating movie posters for over 135 films including E.T and Blade Runner.
The Generation Gallery features a wide array of cinematic and television artworks featuring those from The Simpsons, DC Comics, Star Trek and Harry Potter. Prints are available to buy in the gallery. The exhibition is free to attend and runs until 25th May at the Generation Gallery, New York Street, Manchester, M1 4BD.
