Aberdeen boss has hit out at the size of Celtic's playing budget after Celtic manager Ronny Deila said he was confident they would win the title this season to make it 5 in a row.

Aberdeen had won their first 8 games, but slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Inverness on the same day Celtic were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Hearts. The Dons had a bad week all round after being knocked out of the League Cup against Championship side Hibernian, with a war of words ensuing between Deila and McInnes.

McInnes said, "I know he said they’ll win five in a row. I think that any manager in our league would be confident in saying something like that given the level of finances Celtic has when the rest of the clubs are working on playing budgets of between £1m and £2m and they’re working with £20m."

Deila has said that he feels that once Celtic get into top gear, Aberdeen won't be able to cope with his side, while McInnes appears to be more than willing to stoke the flames of the rivalry.
