Torino and Italy defender Matteo Darmian has long been a target of the big clubs in the Premiership, but as yet Torino have been reluctant to budge, despite the player saying he is open to a move away from Serie A.

In a recent interview however, Torino Chairman Urbano Cairo has said he would be willing to sell the full back, but Europe's top clubs will have to dig a lot deeper than the £11m suggested so far if they're to tempt him.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Cairo said "If Darmian would like to stay then Torino will never sell him, but if he were to signal a desire to leave and if there were to be a crazy offer for him, we might sell".

The 25 year old is one of Italy's most promising talents in defence, and for a club like Man Utd who've been lacking in leadership at the back, he could turn out to be an important player for Van Gaal.
