Arsenal and Manchester United have emerged as frontrunners in the race for Marco Reus after Real Madrid pull out, according to talkSPORT.

The report cites Spanish outlet AS who say that Real Madrid have opted not to pursue Borussia Dortmund's golden boy, Reus. They say that whilst Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema remain at the club, Real have no need for Reus. Thus, Arsenal and Man Utd are left to battle eachother for the lightening blond German.

Arsenal have been chasing Reus for a long time and are thought to have tried and signed the player last summer before he got seriously injured. Injuries are something that have plagued the 25-year-old of late - his fragile ankles being the issue.

Man Utd are believed to have the upper hand in terms of money. They can afford to bid higher and offer more wages. However, as we've seen over the last two summers, when Arsène Wenger wants a player badly, he usually manages to woo them with his seductive multi-lingual charm.

Reus would be a huge coup for either side and with Jürgen Klopp gone, he may feel it's time he moved on as well...
