Charlton have a secret weapon in their midst, as they travel to Elland Road tonight to face Leeds.

They have just signed the 23-year old Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin on a month’s loan and there’s every reason to believe that the French U-21 star will shine in the Championship.

Coquelin has played 43 times for Arsenal and has had successful loan spells in the French Ligue 1 with Lorient and the Bundesliga with Freiburg. Coquelin now has the chance to experience regular football in England, before returning to Arsenal.

A tough-tackling defensive midfielder, Coquelin will add grit to Charlton’s midfield but also possess the sort of skill you’d expect from a product of Arsenal’s academy, with a great eye for a pass.

Leeds fans will hope that he takes time to acclimatise to his new team, especially when they watch this video of him in action.
