Monaco's Portuguese midfielder João Moutinho could be the midfielder Arsène Wenger goes all out for, according to The Guardian, as the Arsenal boss looks to strengthen the spine of his team ahead of next season's campaign.
Arsenal have been quiet in the market since the transfer of Petr Cech from Chelsea, but the news that the Portuguese has been given the green light to leave current club Monaco, despite having three years left on his contract.
Man Utd, Spurs and Chelsea were all previously in the running for Moutinho, but with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin bolstering United's midfield, Jose Mourinho stating he's only in the market for a right back, and Spurs seemingly uninterested in signing players people have actually heard of, that only leaves Arsenal, who've got a Flamini-sized hole in their current squad.
Moutinho was part of the Monaco side that decimated Arsenal 3-1 at home in the Champions League last season, so will know Wenger's men well.
What do you think, Arsenal fans? Is he the right man for the job? Are there other areas on the pitch which need strengthening first? Let us know.
