Arsenal fans have been waiting with baited breath over the rumoured transfer of centre-back Shkodran Mustafi, but Arsene Wenger seems to have other ideas.
Speaking this week, Wenger named Rob Holding, Calum Chambers, and Krystian Bielik as the only options to play alongside Paulista against Liverpool in the Gunners' opening league game.
The Arsenal manager said: "Our defenders will be tested so I might use a few combinations during the game. I believe that Bielik, Chambers and Holding will be fighting for the place between the three of them."
Arsenal have been linked with a big money move for Mustafi, currently playing at Valencia, since seeing Mertesacker and Koscielny sidelined with injuries.
By the sounds of Wenger's comments however, it's not worth holding your breath for any new blood being brought in as replacements.
