Arsenal: Why This Bayern Star Could Be Alongside Ramsey Next Season
Arsenal seem to be perpetually a few players away from something special, but it looks like Arsene Wenger's finally trying to sort out the problems everyone else has seen for years with a move for Bayern midfielder Javi Martinez, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Spaniard was a crucial part of the German side's all-conquering success last year, memorably dominating his compatriots Xavi and Iniesta in the Champions League semi-final. He's found playing time harder to come by under Pep Guardiola and Arsenal have now enquired about his availability.
Mikel Arteta's getting on now and the 25-year-old would be the perfect foil for Aaron Ramsey - he's great in the air, a strong tackler, and confident in possession. He can do a job at centre-back as well. He's still Bayern's record signing at £32 million, and has three years left on his deal, so he'd cost a fortune even if he were available.
Do Arsenal fans think they can pull off the signing of Martinez?
