Atleti Wizard Arda Turan To Liverpool? Not If Man City Get There First...

Liverpool's shoddy window will be forgotten if they manage to sign long-term target Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid but they face stiff competition from one of the most in-form sides in the world right now in the considerable shape of Manchester City, according to The Guardian.

With the loss of Salah to spoilt blue brats Chelsea, Rodgers is short of another world class attacker (assuming that Salah will be THAT good in the Prem - we're skeptical, we'll admit) and Turan would be a massive boost. There are questions as to whether he'd leave a team that are sitting pretty at (almost) the top of La Liga to join a team which has only just starting to find its feet again after long-term league dormancy, but it could well happen. Stranger things have... *points at Fulham's Kosta Mitrioglou* Things like that.

City are relative newcomers to the Turan race (which I'm going to term 'Gran Turan-ismo' just because it makes me laugh) but Arda might be wary of the fact that City are wont to pick up brilliant players like Panini stickers and will probably end up losing a few of them behind the metaphorical bed and forget about them entirely.

If I were a betting man (and I very much am), I'd say Liverpool are favourites: a team with the cachet of great football without the slutty approach of City's recruitment staff.

Whoever signs him, he won't be cheap - players of his ilk never are, no matter how hirsute. Good with both feet, operating from the right wing but comfortable all over, he'd be an asset to any team. Especially West Ham.

God it'd be great if he signed for West Ham, wouldn't it?
