We all know that the sensible thing to do is to wait until Friday to make our Fantasy Premier League transfers, but such shows of self-restraint are the preserve of those with nothing but ice in their veins.

The more normal amongst us will instead spend the majority of their Monday morning neglecting their work duties, to instead trawl through player stats, as we look to have a definitive transfer target in the bag by mid-afternoon. If you want to be have the decision made in time for lunch, here are our seven players that we think you should consider signing this week.

7. Callum Chambers - £4.8m

With a clean sheet, an assist and a goal from Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Burnley, Chambers took maximum bonus points to become this week’s top scorer with 18. As Mathieu Debuchy is out until December, Chambers is guaranteed a start when fit and is a must-pick for all but the most hardened Spurs fan.

6. Paul Dummett - £4.1m

Another budget defender that will free up some cash for an expensive forward, is Newcastle’s Paul Dummett. With the Magpies having won four games on the bounce, Dummett has collected a tidy 16 points over the past three weeks and is as cheap as the chips on sale at the Bigg Market.

5. Dusan Tadic - £7.8m

The Southampton locomotive shows no sign of being slowed down by the Autumn weather and with the Saints facing struggling Leicester and Aston Villa in their next two games, more goals look on the cards. Despite being the joint-third top scoring midfielder with 54 points, Tadic is currently being selected by just 10% of teams. Make him your point of difference.

4. Alexis Sanchez - £10.6m

Or alternatively you could just jump onboard the bandwagon and buy Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez like all your mates will. The Chilean is now being employed in a central attacking role just behind the striker and has responded with five goals from his last three games to become the league’s overall top points scorer.

3. Stewart Downing - £5.8m

For a cheaper midfield option you could do worse than West Ham’s comeback kid. With a goal and an assist from the Hammers’ 2-2 draw with Stoke, Downing took all three bonus points to score a total of 13. With West Ham’s fixture list looking kind until this side of Christmas, Downing will surely continue to chip in with with plenty of points.

2. Ayoze Perez - £4.8m

Everyone loves a budget striker to allow for two bug guns up front and they don’t come much cheaper than the Newcastle forward. Ayoze has now scored the winning goal against Spurs and Liverpool in the Magpies’ past two games and must be getting closer to becoming a first-choice pick for both Alan Pardew and many a Fantasy manager.

1. Harry Kane - £4.8m

Another striker that will present you with change from £5m is Tottenham’s Harry Kane. Fast becoming a cult hero at the otherwise miserable White Hart Lane, Kane has banged in nine goals from 13 games in all competitions, including the winner in Spurs’ 2-1 win over Aston Villa. The England U-21 striker surely can’t be ignored for much longer by Mauricio Pochettino.
