Can Liverpool Beat Arsenal To Wilfried Bony?

Wilfried Bony, who actually went on trial with Liverpool in 2007, could be set for a more long term move to Liverpool as Brendan Rodgers has reportedly expressed his interest in the Ivorian international.

And now, according to Squawka, the striker is reportedly "desperate" to join Liverpool for £19million.

Bony's first season in English Football was a rousing success, scoring 16 Premier League goals for the Jacks. Bony was always going to attract attention from bigger clubs, and it seems very possible that Bony will follow Brendan Rodgers and Joe Allen from Swansea to Liverpool.

Bony's potential arrival surely signals that Fabio Borini is on his way out of the club; Iago Aspas is expected to end his torrid time at the club this summer, whilst Borini may not be happy being behind Sturridge, Lambert and potentially Bony in the pecking order.

Bony would bring Liverpool clinical finishing and immense holding play. His link up play is among the best in the League, and defenders regularly find it difficult to deal with his raw physicality. He's not at his best when dribbling at defenders, and would act as a completely different option to Suarez. Whilst nobody is suggesting Bony can rise to the level of Luis Suarez, many think he would enjoy more success in English Football should he move to the Reds.

And it's not just the wanting eyes of Liverpool he's caught, Arsenal have also thrown their hat into the ring - should rumours be believed - to sign the big Ivorian.

Where will he end up?
