According to ESPNFC, Chelsea and Manchester City are monitoring Spurs left-back Danny Rose. Rose has had an impressive season at White Hart Lane and the Premier League's big money sides are ready to fight one another for the Englishman.

Rose, 24, has been called up to the England senior squad this season, rightfully so considering he's outperformed many other English left-backs. However, a big money move to a top side will surpass any national recognition.

Rose's youth and nationality have a big part to play for both Chelsea and Man City, however it's arguable that City's need for homegrown players is greater.

Chelsea, however, will be looking to add depth as Felipe Luis has been linked with a move back to Spain. Luis may even be used as part-exchange for Atletico Madrid's Koke.

Spurs shouldn't be too reluctant to let Rose go as they have a ready-made replacement in Ben Davies. It's just a case of which big spender blinks first...
