The former Chelsea and England left-back Wayne Bridge has claimed that the club have dropped a clanger in letting one of their best products of their academy go.
Wayne Bridge, speaking exclusively to 888poker.com thinks that Chelsea should have held on to the Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand, who he believes to be the equal of Cesar Azpilicueta.
“Every time I’ve seen Azpilicuerta play he looks so solid and he is definitely up there with the best but I’m a Southampton fan so I love Ryan Bertrand.
"I was playing at Chelsea when he was coming through and he’s a really good full-back. Azpilicuerta is as good as him but though they have different qualities they are both up there.”
