Jose Mourinho is planning a raid on his former club, Porto, as he looks to strengthen his squad in January to inject new life into a Chelsea side competing on all fronts.

Porto's Algerian midfielder Yacine Brahimi has been attracting the interest of Chelsea recently, with a move for the 25 year old possible in January. The Blues are keen to reinforce after suffering 5 defeats already this season in all competitions, equalling the total for the entirety of last season.

Brahimi has previously played for Rennes, Clermont, Granada and has been at Porto since 2014, he is primarily an attacking midfielder but can operate on either wing. He appeared at every youth level for France before declaring for Algeria as a senior player, and he has a release clause of £44.1 million.

That clause is much higher than Chelsea's valuation of him, and any deal is dependent on negotiation of the fee. Brahimi was Man of the Match as Porto defeated Chelsea 2-1 in their Champions League group game.
