According to The Telegraph, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho sees Spurs midfielder Mousa Dembele as a replacement for Jon Obi Mikel, who looks set to leave Chelsea after falling down the pecking order behind Matic and Fabregas.
Despite Chelsea's starting XI looking strong ahead of the new campaign, Mourinho knows a weak squad leaves him susceptible to injury problems, something which a title-defending team cannot let happen.
Spurs will be keen to hold on to their Belgian international if they are to content for a Champions League spot next season, but it's understood an offer of around £12m could be enough to secure his signature.
From the player's point of view, he'd be swapping Spurs for a presumably higher wage packet and a chance at a title winners medal. Although in sacrificing regular first team football, the midfielder knows he could damage his chance of international football at next year's European Championships.
Should he go, given the chance? Let us know in the comments below.
