The Czech FA have confirmed that Arsenal's midfield veteran Tomas Rosicky will be out for 1-2 months after undergoing knee surgery.

"Tomas last Tuesday passed arthroscopic knee surgery. Recovery is estimated four to eight weeks," the player's agent Pavel Paska said.

Although Rosicky is no longer a key figure in terms of Arsenal's first team, another midfield injury (adding to that of Jack Wilshere) means that Arsenal are being left shorter and shorter in midfield.

Perhaps, given Mikel Arteta's fragility as well, this is what has prompted Arsenal to up their interest in the likes of Sevilla's Grzegorz Krychowiak...
