In an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, Former Spurs, West Ham and Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has said "it's a shame" that Chelsea will most likely snap up John Stones from Everton.
Rumours are rife that Everton are set to reject a third Chelsea bid of £30m for the 21-year-old, but Redknapp reckons it's only a matter of time until a deal is done.
“When you’ve been in the game long enough you know, if a player wants to go, he’s going to go,” Redknapp told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast.
“I would think if the money’s right...
“David De Gea wants to leave Man United - he wants to go but it’s just when a deal can be done that suits everybody - and I think it’s the same with Stones.
Redknapp then went on to say what a shame it is for Everton.
“It’s a shame. Everton brought him in and gave him the opportunities, he’s been there 18 months and suddenly he’s off to Chelsea.
“But he’ll be a good signing for Chelsea and he’ll give them good cover and good competition at centre-half.”
Although Redknapp believes he'll be a good signing, he thinks the price Chelsea will have to pay is crazy.
“No disrespect to the young lad, he’s a good player, but you look at the amount of money for someone who only signing for Everton from Barnsley a short while ago.”
