An Arsenal fan has posted a picture on Twitter of a letter he received from the Arsenal legend David Rocastle.

Postmarked 4th February 1987, the letter to Twitter user @TimH1971 features the former England international apologising for his late reply and making reference to a recent win over Spurs - a 2-1 league victory at White Hart Lane that took place a month before.

Rocastle ends the letter with the hope that Arsenal would win something that year. He got his wish, as the Gunners defeated Liverpool in the League Cup Final.

Sadly, Rocastle passed away in 2001 aged just 33, after a battle with cancer. Here’s the letter which sums up why the two-time league championship winner is still held in such high regard by Arsenal supporters.
