Flashback: Watch Clough’s Nottingham Forest Take Revenge On Leeds
Nottingham Forest host Leeds on Saturday bringing back memories of a man that will forever link both clubs.
Brian Clough lasted just 44 days as Leeds manager but bounced back having taken over at Forest. Winning promotion to the First Division in 1977, Clough's won the title in their opening season back in the big time but it was in the League Cup where Big 'Ead would take revenge on Leeds.
The two sides met in the League Cup semi-finals and Forest won the first leg at Elland Road 3-1. Though it may have seemed like the tie was over, Leeds fought back in the second-leg and went into half-time winning 2-1. Yet Clough was not to be denied his moment and his side ripped apart Leeds in the second-half, winning 4-2 on the night and 7-3 on aggregate.
