According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have renewed their interest in Southampton's rising star Nathaniel Clyne.
The Saints rejected a £10m bid back in May, but reports suggest Rodgers is undeterred and will make a higher offer to lure the young England international to Anfield this summer.
The 24 year old has one year left on his contract at St Mary's and is valued by the club at £15m. Not too scary for an England international these days.
With Glen Johnson leaving, Rodgers sees Clyne as the perfect replacement at right-back. Southampton know they will eventually lose Clyne, but with Liverpool dropping out of the title race and into Europa territory, will the Saints really want to sell to a rival?
