Silvio Berlusconi, the controversial former Italian president and current AC Milan president, has made the headlines again in claiming that AC Milan are better off with Liverpool loanee Mario Balotelli leading the line, rather than Paris Saint-Germain's Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Speaking after Milan's 3-2 victory over Palermo, Berlusconi claimed that he thinks the ex-Liverpool and Man City forward has "reached maturity", and claimed that Ibrahimovic, who Milan failed to sign this summer, is "getting old".
Could Liverpool get their money back for Balotelli? It looks uncertain at this moment in time, with his shambolic performances in a red shirt severely devaluing his worth, but if Balotelli manages to recapture some of the electric form he has shown at both AC Milan and Inter Milan, Liverpool may still stand a chance of recouping the £16 million fee they paid to bring him back to English football. Whether or not Berlusconi will be proved right in his assertion that Balotelli is better than Ibrahimovic remains to be seen.
