Liverpool target Jurgen Klopp has tuned down the chance to manage Mexico's national team, according to reports this week, potentially leaving the door open for a move to Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers' position as Liverpool boss is unstable after failure to quality for Champions League football last season and a shaky start to the campaign this year. Klopp, formerly of Borussia Dortmund but currently without a club, has been lined up as a dream replacement by many Reds fans.

This week, head of the Mexican Football Federation Guillermo Cantu confirmed they had approached Klopp about the position, but had been unsuccessful.
