Lucas Leiva has been associated with Anfield for many years, but he has admitted he expected to be leaving Liverpool during the summer, amidst speculation he was set to join Besiktas.
After missing out on the squad for the first two games of the season it looked like he was on his way, before a surprise recall and impressive performance against Arsenal saw Brendan Rodgers reconsider his future. The Brazilian is now set to stay at Anfield for the foreseeable future, but admits it's been tough the past couple of seasons.
"I think the last couple of years, every transfer window my name is linked with a move. Of course there are times when you think you might have to move on and I was very close to moving but one thing I will always have is commitment to this club. I've been here so long and I always said if I had the choice to be here and be happy, I would always choose Liverpool." Lucas told Liverpool's official website.
