In a move which will delight Liverpool fans across the world, Daniel Sturridge is set to be named in today's starting line-up against Norwich - his first appearance for the Reds in 8 months. Having received extensive rehabilitation for his recurring thigh injuries over the course of pre-season, Sturridge's start represents the end of a difficult lay-off for both player and club, with Liverpool now more in need of their star man than ever.

World-class players are few and far between at the club, with only Philippe Coutinho shining out of this year's squad, and Liverpool desperately need another devastating attacking talent to supplement Coutinho's guile and Benteke's added steel. With the return of Sturridge to the side, Liverpool now have arguably the second-best striker in the Premier League - after Sergio Aguero - at their disposal, and the prospect of Sturridge linking up with Coutinho, Benteke and Roberto Firmino must be a tantalising one for the club's increasingly beleaguered fanbase.
