Step forward Luiz Gustavo, the adaptable Brazilian defensive midfielder who's equally capable at centre-back. Gustavo was heavily tracked by the Gunners last summer, with Wenger launching a £17m bid before Gustavo decided to stay in Germany and move to VfL Wolfsburg to help state his cause for a place in Brazil's World Cup squad. That bit kind of fell by the wayside.
