Man United Legend Could Be New Wigan Manager If Mackay Is Forced Out
According to The Sunday People, Man United legend Ryan Giggs has been shortlisted for the managerial role at Wigan if Malky Mackay is eventually charged by the FA following an inquiry into the then Cardiff manager's offensive texts. Wigan have protection clauses in place which could see Mackay leave the club if found guilty.
The role may be a perfect fit for Giggs as he looks to prove himself as a manager with a view to eventually taking up the mantle at Old Trafford. The added responsibility and pressure of being the manager as opposed to an assistant is crucial if the decorated Welshman is to really become a top manager and Wigan could offer him a chance to gain such experience.
