Man United: Atletico Stand Firm On £28.5Million Ultimatum For Uruguayan
According to the Express, Atletico Madrid have told Man United they have to pay the full £28.5million buy-out clause if they want to sign their star centre-back Diego Godin. Atletico are notoriously tough negotiators and always get good deals for their players and they are looking to exploit Man United's desperate search for a world class centre-back.
The 28-year-old Uruguayan won La Liga with Atletico last season and would add some much needed know-how and guile to Van Gaal's young, shaky defence. It was reported that Man United wanted to start bidding at £16million, but with money apparently being no object for Man United, fans will be hoping they adhere to Atletico's demands and get the deal done.
