It's been reported today that Manchester United Chief Executive Ed Woodward has flown to Barcelona to complete the signing of Spanish international Pedro. Sky Sports News are also reporting that the club have agreed personal terms with the player.

The forward has become increasingly frustrated at the lack of opportunity at Barcelona, with the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez tying up Luis Enrique's attacking options.

The Spanish giants lost out in the Super Cup to Atletico Bilbao this week, failing to pull back from a 4-0 first leg defeat, drawing 1-1.

Manchester United have long been linked with the player, and it seems from this news that a transfer is imminent. Many fans have criticised Van Gaal however for over-buying in midfield and neglecting to buy a central defender.

Despite the deal being "very close", Barcelona will still have to agree a fee for the player. This summing up made us laugh.
